Hudson Library’s 2024 Summer Learning Program “Adventure Begins at Your Library!”

Join Beanstack to log reading and activity challenges for all ages.
The Summer Learning Program (SLP) officially begins on Monday, June 3. That is the first day your logged reading on Beanstack will count towards SLP.
Children: Students entering preschool through grade 5
Teens: Students entering grades 6-12
Adult: Everyone 18+

Every child who registers before June 3 will be entered to win a very special prize from the Akron RubberDucks. Every teen who registers before June 3 will be entered to win a Starbucks gift card. The last day to log your reading is Saturday, July 27 and you can pick up prizes until Saturday, August 3 at 4:30 p.m.

Adventure Bear
Decorate your Adventure Bear and take them with you throughout the summer!
We’d love to see pictures of their adventures!

The Children’s SLP is open to all children entering preschool through fifth grade.
As you read this summer, record on Beanstack the amount of time you spend reading. All reading counts, including time spent reading to yourself, the time books are read to you, and time spent listening to audiobooks. As you log your minutes, you will receive the following special rewards:

1 hour – instant prize
5 hours – instant prize and Ohio State Parks coupon
10 hours – instant prize, weekly prize drawing entry, and a free admission ticket to the Ohio State Fair
15 hours – instant prize, 1 grand prize entry and a certificate for a ticket to either the Cleveland Monsters (Cleveland’s ice hockey team) or the Cleveland Charge (Cleveland’s NBA G League basketball team)
20 hours – instant prize, 5 grand prize entries, a book to keep, a drawstring bag, and a finisher button, plus your picture will be added to our Finishers Display in the Children’s Room!

Keep reading up to 50 hours and complete extra activity badges for more prize opportunities. Plus for every five hours you read, we’ll add a link to your grade’s paper chain! Who will read the most this summer? Don’t forget to pick up your SLP Packet at the Children’s Desk starting May 30.

Each time you visit the library during SLP (no matter why you stop by) enter your name in a drawing to win a pizza party at the end of the summer!
