Tech Devices

The Hudson Library & Historical Society has a variety of tech devices available for you to check out and take home.

What’s Available?

Children’s iPads

  • An iPad loaded with children’s picture books.
  • Each iPad has a sturdy case and a messenger bag for easy transporting.

Chromebooks 

  • Internet-based laptops powered by Google Chrome.  Just connect to WiFi and go!  Login with your Google account to have additional access to Google Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets and more!

Digital Video Converter  

  • Digitize video from a VCR, video camera, or other analog video source for your Mac, PC, and iPad.

8MM & Super 8 Reel Converter   

  • Convert 8mm & Super 8 Ree.ls into digital video files.

External Floppy Disc Drive  

  • Plug the external floppy disc drive into your computer to access the old floppy discs you used in the past to store documents.

Film/Slide Scanner  

  • Convert slides and negatives to a digital file. Save images to an SD card or transfer to a computer.

Flatbed Scanner  

  • Scan film, slides, negatives and documents to convert to a digital file.

GoPros

  • Capture your next great adventure with the GoPro Hero Session.  A durable, waterproof action camera.

Hotspots

  • Borrow a hotspot with unlimited data for Internet on the go!  Connect up to 15 Wi-Fi enabled devices through the Verizon 4G LTE and 3G network.  You can also charge external devices without draining battery life.

Podcasting To-Go Kit

  • Podcasting-to-Go Kits can be used to record a podcast, class lecture or presentation!

Portable Blu-Ray Player 

  • Use the portable Blu-Ray player to watch your movies on the go!

Roku Streaming Media Player

  • Enjoy movies, TV shows, music, and games on your home television.
  • Roku subscriptions with Netflix, Hulu, Apple tv, Disney+, HBO max, prime video and peacock courtesy of the Hudson Library & Historical Society.

Ukulele 

  • Take home a ukulele and learn how to play this small guitar-like instrument.  Instruction and songbooks also available for checkout.

Video Production Kit  

  • Record your own videos and films with this all-in-one film production kit! Please note that you will need to provide your own camera or smartphone that connects to this device for filming.

Rules and Guidelines

  • Patrons may check out up to two devices per household. *Due to high demand, Chromebooks, Hotspots, Rokus and Portable BluRay Players are limited to one device per household per month.  Call the circulation department to be placed on a wait list for any of these 5 tech devices.
  • You must be 18 years of age to check out tech items (ukuleles excluded). Items will only be checked out to the cardholder with proper ID.
