picture-twoWhat 3D printer is used to print designs?

The Hudson Library and Historical Society uses a Bambu Labs X1 to print 3D models.

 

What type of filament is used?
PLA (polylactic acid) plastic filament.

 

How much does it cost to print 3D designs?
The cost for printing is $0.10 per gram or more depending on the filament color. A cost estimate can be generated prior to printing. An exact cost will be determined after the print job is complete.

 

How many designs can be printed?
Customers are limited to two prints per month.

 

Who can pick up the finished design?
Models must be picked up by the individual who emailed the design. A photo I.D. must be presented at the time of pick-up.picture-ten

 

How can I submit a design?
Submit your models through the Hudson Library’s 3D Model Submission Page.

 

picture-eightHow long will it take for the finished product to be available for pickup?
3D objects are printed on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is determined based on the time the emailed submission is received.  Typically, 3D prints are ready for pick-up within a week the submission is received.  You will receive an email when your 3D print is ready for pick-up.

 

How long do I have to pick up a printed model?
Failure to pick-up a printed model within 7 days may result in the cost being charged to your account as a library fine.

The following colors are available as of 03/20/26:
