Summer Reading Program 2019


The Hudson Library & Historical Society is excited to announce this year’s Summer Reading Program for children and teens.  The Summer Reading Program begins on Saturday, June 1st.  This is the first day you can start recording your daily reading. The program ends on Wednesday, July 31st at 9:00 p.m. That is the final day to record reading times and collect prizes.

Please register for an account if you plan on being a part of our Summer Reading Program in any way, whether you are logging reading time or attending programs.  We hope you do both!  Register online beginning May 1st.  * If you played our online summer reading game in 2018, you can still use the same username and password to register.


For children entering into 5th grade and younger, for every hour you read, you will receive a turn at the Interplanetary Plinko Game, an instant prize when you reach 5 hours of reading time, another prize when you reach 10 hours, and a weekly prize drawing entry at 15 hours.

Complete 20 hours of reading and you will receive a grand prize drawing entry, a book to keep, and your “Rocket Reader” picture posted in the Children’s Room.

Enter to win a special party in the library for you and 4 friends by filling out an entry form every time you visit the library.


Teens ages 11 – 18, record the time you spend reading. For every 5 hours of reading, you will receive a chance at the prize wheel making you eligible for various prizes or a grand prize entry to win an Oculus Go. Visit the Teen Room to spin the wheel.
