RAIN GARDEN |

If you haven't seen the new rain
garden at the Hudson Library,
take a look next time you drive
up Clinton Street. This
project has important
environmental, educational and
recreational components.
On Saturday, May 10th, the
garden was successfully
installed through the combined
efforts of many community
groups. |

|
 |
Participants included: thirty
students from Hudson High
School's Ecology and Service
Learning classes, as well as
Scout Troop 327; members of the
Hudson Garden Club; and John
Spivak from the Hudson City
Parks. Sherry Beam provided her
gardening expertise to help
design the rain garden and she
worked closely with Project
Coordinator and Library Board
Trustee, Bob Swedenborg. |

This garden was
funded through the generous support of the Hudson Community
Foundation, Hudson Kiwanis and First & Main. Sagamore Soils
donated the soil and mulch. |
|

|
|
 |
The Library will
be hosting a series of gardening programs to highlight
environmentally sound gardening practices. These will include
:
Organic Gardening (July 1st);
Sustainable Gardens (July 10th) and
Farms and Foods of Ohio (July 22nd). |
