Benefit Statements Library Services Our volunteers supplement, enhance, and support library staff by meeting the demands for quality public service. Effective use of library volunteers can extend the value of every tax dollar by providing an increased pool of labor and larger diversity of human resources. Volunteers contribute to the success of our library programs by providing enhanced customer service. The
Hudson Library and Historical Society’s use of volunteers helps to
maintain quality services Personal Enhancement Library volunteerism empowers individuals to reach their potential as productive members of the community and to make positive contributions to the quality of community life. Library volunteering can serve as on-the-job training. Our library volunteers gain a sense of personal achievement by being an important part of our team.
Our volunteer program provides an opportunity for citizens to volunteer and make positive contributions to the Hudson Library and Historical Society. Community volunteers bring good feelings and positive attitudes to the staff by freely giving their unique talents. Volunteering encourages individuals in the community to appreciate the Hudson Library and Historical Society by becoming familiar with the library resources and its services. Volunteers reflect the ideas and concerns of the community and therefore bring special awareness to the library’s planning and administrative processes. The Hudson Library and Historical Society provides volunteer hours for court-assigned community restitution. Our volunteer program provides the opportunity for youth to complete their community service requirements for school, church, scouts and other programs.
