P4A Antiques
The information in the p4a Antiques Reference database is routinely used to estimate the value of similar items for sale, for purchase or for insurance purposes, to substantiate a formal appraisal, to assist in a family division of property or to learn what was paid for a specific item listed in the database. Biznar is a free, publicly available business search site.  Using state-of-the-art federated search technology from Deep Web Technologies, Biznar accelerates your search by returning the most relevant results from across the World Wide Web, including blogs, wikis, mainstream searches and deep web sources to one, easily navigable page. Each search is done in real-time, searching the sources you select as if you were entering the search term on each individual website yourself. Hoovers
The Hoover's Online database provides access to in-depth company profiles for more than 40,000 companies, public and private, worldwide, as well as to financial information, news, and industry information. This database is an excellent starting point for company research.

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia
Funk & Wagnall's New Encyclopedia database indexes over 25,000 records. Full text for each record may be easily accessed by double clicking on the topic from the display. This database is accessed through EBSCOhost.

Encyclopedia of Global Warming 
For two decades, merely granting credence to the phenomena of global warming could be politically divisive. Though far from the visionary move toward neutralizing emissions that many delegates had hoped, the Copenhagen climate summit acknowledged a causal relationships between first-world industry and environmental degradation and warming. As the emissions doomsday date of 2050 looms, Salem Press' three-volume subject encyclopedia on global warming provides a number of ways for students to investigate the phenomena of climate change and greenhouse gases and their effects on many species and environments.

St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture

World Book Online
Resources include encyclopedic content, e-books, multimedia, a vast collection of primary source documents, and a wealth of research tools that allow students to customize and save their work.

World Book Reference Center
The articles of the venerable World Book Encyclopedia form the foundation of this expansive reference database that includes the World Book Dictionary, the World Book Atlas, an extensive multimedia collection, thousands of editor-selected Web sites, correlations to state and provincial curriculum standards, and much more.

Genealogy

Ancestry Library Edition
Ancestry Plus has been replaced by the publisher with Ancestry Library Edition (Proquest). The Passenger & Immigration Lists (P.I.L.I.) are no longer included in this database. New content includes: the Immigration Collection, which features New York and San Francisco Passenger Lists and the New York Petitions for Naturalization Index. Ancestry Library Edition features more than 1.2 billion records of interest to genealogy researchers, including digitized images of the U.S. Census from 1790 forward and the Social Security Death Index.

Cleveland Necrology File
The Cleveland Necrology File contains local cemetery records and newspaper death notices for the following years: 1833, 1847-1848, 1850-1975. A more complete description of the file’s contents can be found in the “About” section of the database. For necrology information after 1975, please use the Cleveland News Index.

Footnote
Source data is the foundation of academic research.  In the past, researching key American historical documents was expensive, time consuming and frustrating. Footnote has digitized and indexed over 50 million images of historical documents found nowhere else on the web and adds about 2 million new documents each month!  In addition, Footnote users can further enrich the data with information pertinent to the record through online tagging, and even uploading and adding their own content.

HeritageQuest
HeritageQuest Online features three significant genealogy resources: The complete U. S. Census, 1790-1930, features new and more accurate indexes (in progress), searchable by place of birth, age, ethnicity, etc. (Click on the "What's New" link in the database to determine which indexes have been completed.) The fully searchable Periodical Source Index (PERSI) features more than 1.6 million citations from 6,500 genealogy periodicals. HeritageQuest's online collection of more than 25,000 family and local history books are searchable by every word.

Ohio Death Certificate Index 1913-1944
This database indexes Death Certificates of persons that died in Ohio in the above years, useful for determining date of death and certificate number. Using the index information, a researcher can later obtain a copy of the certificate itself, which holds further information. More precise searching is now available using the Advanced Search that allows searching by certificate number, volume number and exact date of death.

Ohio Military Rosters - War of 1812
Search the full text of the roster from the Adjutant General records. Ohio furnished 1,759 Officers and 24,521 enlisted men for this war. Brought to you by the State Library of Ohio and OPLIN.

Ohio Legal Services

African-American Experience in Ohio 1850-1920
This digital collection of historical documents is part of "American Memory", an online resource by the Library of Congress National Digital Library Program and was brought to you with the assistance of an award from The Library of Congress / Ameritech National Digital Library Competition. It provides an overview of Ohio's African-American experiences during the time period 1850 to 1920 in the words of the people that lived them.

Global Road Warrior  
A comprehensive social/cultural, travel, and international business resource, covering 175 countries and territories. Content includes 11-million-plus words of editorial, over 6000 color photos, and 1575 country maps, all presented in a consistent 97-category framework for each country.  This database is proving valuable to several educational cross disciplines and promotes cross-cultural understanding through comparative studies.

Ohio Battle Flags
Explore the history of the Ohio Battle Flag Collection housed at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio.  Ohio soldiers carried the flags, known as colors, in the Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I and World War II. There are more than five hundred flags in the collection, the majority of which are from the Civil War. There are 552 battle flags in the Adjutant General’s battleflag collection, including 434 from the Civil War. Learn more about the personal, military and historical significance of the flags. Behind the Lines section tells true stories of the soldiers and civilians who fought to preserve the colors both in war and in peace. Illustrating the featured stories are images and documents from the society's collections.  The Ohio Statehouse once had a room called the "Relic Room" where Ohio's military colors were first displayed. Explore the history of the Ohio Battle Flag Collection housed at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio.  Ohio soldiers carried the flags, known as colors, in the Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I and World War II. There are more than five hundred flags in the collection, the majority of which are from the Civil War. There are 552 battle flags in the Adjutant General’s battleflag collection, including 434 from the Civil War. Learn more about the personal, military and historical significance of the flags. Behind the Lines section tells true stories of the soldiers and civilians who fought to preserve the colors both in war and in peace. Illustrating the featured stories are images and documents from the society's collections.  The Ohio Statehouse once had a room called the "Relic Room" where Ohio's military colors were first displayed. This database indexes Death Certificates of persons that died in Ohio in the above years, useful for determining date of death and certificate number. Using the index information, a researcher can later obtain a copy of the certificate itself, which holds further information. More precise searching is now available using the Advanced Search that allows searching by certificate number, volume number and exact date of death.
