In July of 1943, the Hudson Library & Historical Society put out an
article in the Hudson Times in order to collect and file the
information about the men and women of the Hudson community that were involved
in national service. This included all the armed services and branches
of the army and navy, and those in foreign services such as the Red Cross, the
Field Ambulance Service, WAVES, and WAC. The Hudson Library &
Historical Society wanted to acquire these records so that historians of
the future would have quick and easy access to the information from this
historical time.
