John Brown II was born March 11, 1699 in
Windsor, Connecticut (Windsor Vital Records), the son of John Brown
Sr. and Elizabeth Loomis.
John II married March 14, 1725 to Mary
Eggleston, the daughter of Thomas Eggleston; she was born May 13,
1702 in Windsor and died August 25, 1789 in Simsbury, Connecticut;
John II died September 3, 1790 in Windsor. Unless otherwise noted,

the 18th Regiment of the Connecticut Militia; died Sept.
3, 1776 in New York ( Gerald McFarland’s A Scattered People: An American Family Moves West
contains a biographical sketch);married
Hannah Owen March 2, 1758; Hannah died May 18, 1831, age
91 in West Simsbury, now Canton Center, Connecticut (Canton Center
Cemetery Records); a memorial marker for Captain John is part of
Hannah’s stone. (see Abiel Brown’s Genealogical History of the
Early Settlers of West Simsbury)

Merrills were admitted to the Canton Center Congregational Church

Center Congregational Church June 10, 1805. |
