A 10-point Checklist and One Bad Example
Deciding to
export your product and realizing the major, long-term commitment
involved will be the topic at a program at
the Hudson Library on Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m., part of the
library’s Winter/Spring 2010 Entrepreneurship Series of
events.
Bob Chalfant
will discuss his and others’ experience in deciding whether and how
to export your product. He will discuss
many of the difficult questions to ask and answer, describe some of
the pitfalls and provide a wealth of resources for you
to tap as you discuss strategy and tactics for exporting products.
Mr. Chalfant
is the founding partner of NEO Management LLC, a management
consultancy, investment, and property
management firm. Mr. Chalfant has over 25 years of global sales and
marketing experience in consumer products and high
value capital equipment, and has worked with management, engineering
and sales teams to design and build products at
factories in Japan, Korea, Switzerland and England. On the import
side, Mr. Chalfant introduced new technology into North
America from England, Japan and Korea.
Chalfant
presently teaches New Venture Creation at Akron University and
Strategic Management of Technology and
Innovation to MBA students at Chancellor University. He received his
BS degree cum laude in electrical engineering from
Ohio University, and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
