Author Juliette Fay, a favorite of book clubs across the country, will be on hand to discuss and sign her latest novel, “Deep Down True,” at the Hudson Library & Historical Society on Thursday, January 27 at 7 p.m.
The author describes the book’s protagonist, Dana Stellgarten, as “a character who, because of her circumstances, is temporarily sentenced to an adult version of middle school. Still smarting from her divorce, Dana is feeling insecure, socially marginalized, and overwhelmed by added responsibilities. Most of all, she desperately wants to be liked—the ultimate middle school trait. Dana needs to learn to embrace the new identity that develops as she leads her family through difficult times.”
Fay’s first novel, “Shelter Me”, was designated as one of the ten best works of fiction in 2009 by the Massachusetts Center for the Book. It was also named to the Indie Next List of the American Booksellers Association, was chosen as one of six novels for Target’s 2009 Bookmarked Club, and was a Good Housekeeping featured Book Pick.
Fay resides in the Boston area and holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and theology from Boston College and a master’s degree in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. After many years in public service and still raising a family, she has miraculously found time to complete two novels in rapid succession.
The Learned Owl Book Shop, co-sponsors of this event, will provide books for purchase and signing. There is no registration for this free program. For more information, call 330.653.6658, x1010
