For the young readers of Hudson, books with pictures and/or conversations are a must - that is why we in the Hudson Library Children's Department pride ourselves on our exceptional collection. We have artfully-illustrated non-fiction books on hundreds of subjects, juvenile fiction books full of lively conversations, and picture books with illustrations that will make you laugh and conversations that will make you sigh. We know how overwhelming it is as a parent or avid reader to choose what to read out of the thousands of books available, so we have done some of the work for you with this compilation of reviews of recommended titles published in 2011. This list by no means represents all of the great books written recently, but if you're looking for an excellent sampling of this year in children's literature, start here. Every book on this list was read and reviewed by someone on the Hudson Library children's room staff. And when you finish reading, please ask for more.
