Can I download library books to an e-reader?

Absolutely! The CLEVNET eMedia Collection , which the Library participates in, includes thousands of Adobe EPUB, PDF books, and Kindle books that can be downloaded to many popular e-readers.

What kind of titles are in the Library's collection?

Our collection of downloadable ebooks includes a wide variety of bestselling titles from well-known authors. Our eMedia webpage is a great way to stay up-to-date on new additions to the CLEVNET eMedia Collection. And the best part? Downloadable ebooks are available 24/7! No late fees!

What kind of e-readers are compatible with the Library's downloadables collection?

Well-known names include the Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble NOOK, Sony Reader, iPad, and Kobo. See the OverDrive website for the complete list of compatible ebook readers.

What kind of e-reader should I buy?

Do I need any special software?

If you have a Kindle or a Sony Reader Wi-Fi (2011 version only), no special software is required.

If you have a Nook, Kobo, or other type of eReader (excluding the Kindle and iPad), you will need to download the Adobe Digital Editions e-reader software. This free software is used to view and manage ebooks and transfer them to your device. Instructions for downloading the software are on the CLEVNET website. (Audio books require the OverDrive Media Console).

If you plan to read library books on your iPad or mobile device, you will need to install the Overdrive Media Console app, available for free in your device's app store (be sure to confirm if your device is compatible with OverDrive first).
