The Hudson Library & Historical Society is accepting applications for paging positions. The applicants must be at least 16 years of age and avaiable to work 10-20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Applications are available at the circulation desk.

Job Summary

Under supervision this position helps shelve and organize library materials, helps prepare the facility for program use and applies acquired knowledge to help patrons locate materials.

The work performed is subject to review through observation, reports, and results achieved.

General Duties
  • Returns library materials to their proper place on the shelves
  • Reads shelves for correctness of arrangement of materials
  • Shifts shelves where necessary, as directed
  • Physically lifts and arranges library furniture, equipment, and facilities for use by library programs and restores the space to their original condition
  • Assists in Inter-library Loan on an as needed basis, performing various tasks as requested by the ILL Supervisor
  • Performs various tasks assigned by the Page Supervisor and Circulation Manager


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to sort and file alphabetically and numerically
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks
  • Self-motivated
  • Positive attitude towards public service work


Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Must be available to work 10-20 hrs. per week, including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to stand for lengthy periods
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, and reach
